The Customer

We are the region’s audience development agency, working closely with various arts and cultural organisations with the mission ‘to work collaboratively with the cultural sector to grow and nurture audiences’.

In today’s globalised and digitised world the relationship between culture, creativity and audience engagement is becoming ever more complex. We seek to respond more effectively to cultural organisations by transforming both their way of working and methods of engaging with audiences for their clients.

The Problem

BCC undertook a change management programme. It was identified that as a part of this programme, the Information Technology used within the business would require significant investment. Investments in new computer hardware, software, training and external support of those systems were commensurate with the future growth plans of the business.

The Solution

A site survey conducted by BCC Group reviewed the Organisations entire current IT Infrastructure and culminated with the recommendation to replace the current configuration with two new servers, new desktops and associated network peripherals. The new hardware and software was installed by BCC engineers and a contract established for the on-going support and maintenance of the entire network.

The Results

BCC supplied and installed the new IT system, and manage every aspect of our network. The customer service and technical support we receive is of the highest order.

Our initial timetable for the supply and installation was followed to the day. The ‘live’ date was met and since then all queries have been handled efficiently and to our satisfaction. BCC have exceeded our expectations, we are a very happy client.

Chartered Accountants – Yorkshire

The Customer

A firm of Chartered Accountants based in West Yorkshire. By really getting close to clients they seek to assist them to maximise the potential of their businesses, whilst minimising tax liabilities. They have a dedicated tax department managed by an experienced Chartered Tax Advisor and the department includes a specialist Payroll Bureau.

The Problem

Although our IT systems were stable, we needed to move forward and take advantage of new technology. Our vision of a paperless office required the guidance of BCC to install a new Document Management System and a new IT System to host it. We needed assurance that downtime would be kept to a minimum and that our data would be secured.

The Solution

BCC have been providing both remote and on-site IT support to us for over 5 years, and we have also worked with BCC to improve our technology, and more recently we accepted their proposal to move to a virtual environment. This upgrade was a significant move and although we did offer this out to tender, our decision to stay with BCC was due to our knowledge of their professionalism, strict pricing, and valued expertise. The upgrade was a major success and delivered on-time and within budget. Application testing is now performed on a virtual server with zero impact to our users, and with the added advantage of offsite backups we now have peace of mind and a perfect environment on which to grow.

From simple every day requests to installing a complete system, BCC are always friendly, approachable and professional. We now have a stable and modern platform and with the peace of mind that our IT is taken care of we can focus on developing our business.

Electronics Company

The Customer

The Company designs and manufactures a wide range of electronic controllers for the industrial, leisure and hobbyist markets. The products have high knowledge content and require a first-class technical back-up service along with web-based documentation. Products are sold worldwide, with e-mail being the primary ordering medium. The Company also uses VPN connections and off-site e-mail collection. Data reliability and safekeeping are paramount.

The Problem

The Customer is a relatively small company and couldn’t justify in-house resources to manage the IT system and the occasional outages. Never the less it required a solution that would ensure any IT problems would be handled quickly to minimise disruption to the company and their customers.

The Solution

Following a technical survey of the site and the technology needs of the business, BCC supplied, configured and installed a new DELL server with Microsoft Small Business Server and the necessary network equipment to initiate a remote support service.

The Results

Performance of the IT infrastructure improved immensely straight away. The proactive nature of the support we receive means we have very few problems but when we do have issues, they are dealt with promptly and efficiently, allowing us to focus on what we do best – our core business.

Food Manufacturing Company

The Customer

The Company works closely with its customers to manufacture products to precise specifications and is committed to making a real difference to their competitive edge by supplying portion controlled food-safe products. Expertise and resources have helped to build a unique reputation in the industry for cooked ingredients. This requires selecting the best raw materials and combining them with the latest technology and production methods.

The Problem

We outsourced our IT to BCC in 2001 due to a requirement from our parent company. We have subsequently made a significant investment in our business and built a substantial new site. BCC were asked to propose an IT solution to secure this new investment and to provide ongoing support and maintenance as well as the establishment of a Disaster Recovery procedure.

The Solution

BCC successfully implemented a VMware solution on time and within budget. A subsequent server crash, due to a major fire, presented the opportunity for BCC to demonstrate that their disaster recovery procedures worked effectively.

The incident also underlined BCC’s commitment to their customer by members of staff working on-site until the service was restored. As a result of their performance in dealing with the problem, and their continued commitment to us, BCC remains our preferred provider for the maintenance and support of all our IT equipment.

The Results

Outsourcing the management of the IT infrastructure to BCC has enabled us to align IT investment to core business objectives through a period of sustained growth. This has been achieved without having to employ a specialist IT Manager, who most likely would not have the wide range of skills and experience available from BCC.

Users now call the BCC support desk directly to log any issues and this has greatly speeded up the resolution of problems. The service response on everyday matters allows our staff to get on with their jobs rather than having to think about IT.
